HUMMUS
June 2019 | The Honest Spoon
At this stage in my life, one of my missions is to teach my boys how to cook. My oldest is into cooking, while my youngest is more into baking, In an effort to get them comfortable in the kitchen, I am starting them out easy. My oldest is a huge fan of this pasta (his favorite). Now that he’s mastered it- he wanted to know how to make hummus. I know, wait…pasta AND hummus? What? Yeah, well he’s half me and half my husband so the Italian and Lebanese halves are kicking in!!
Let me tell you he was pleasantly surprised that making hummus is a 5 minute experience. Maybe shocked is more appropriate. His response was “Mamma, that was so easy! Did I do something wrong?” No son…welcome to land of quick, easy and healthy.
To make hummus you will need:
Food Processor
1 can garbanzo beans, drained
Tahini
garlic clove
whole lemon
salt
PRO TIPS:
Mince your garlic first! No one wants clumps of garlic in their hummus.
Strain your garbanzo beans well.
Use fresh lemon juice
